WhatsApp has been keeping up its torrid pace of Windows Phone app releases, with the latest version arriving a mere 4 days after the last.
Like last week WhatsApp did release a changelog. Version 220.127.116.11 offers:
- Voice Messaging improvements
- Miscellaneous bug fixes.
Despite the strong pace of development, looking at the posted reviews satisfaction with the app has actually decreased, and it may be due to WhatsApp’s unsophisticated approach to dealing with broken Push Notifications – if it detects Push Notifications are not being received it is asking users to reboot, which I think often does not solve the issue.
We suggest for Windows Phone WhatsApp users run into the problem the best way forward may be to examine recently installed apps and going on an uninstall spree until notifications and Live Tiles start working again.
The update to the app can be found in the Windows Phone Store here.
