WhatsApp for Windows Phone may soon be able to send Audio files

WhatsApp recently gained the ability to send video files from the Windows Phone library,  and there is some indication that we will soon be able to do this with MP3s also.

Mobiflip.de reports  that WhatsApp has added a new translation string above for their volunteer translators with the string “This audio is too big at over {0}. Only the first {1} of the audio will be sent.”

On other platforms the transfer limit is 16 MB, which is more than large enough for most MP3 files, which means soon Windows Phone users may be able to share music freely with their friends.

If this is the case, expect the functionality to arrive shortly, as the WhatsApp team keep up their torrid rate of updates and releases.
