WhatsApp for Windows Phone can now receive PDF documents

whatsapp beta 5

Yesterday WhatsApp pushed out an update for Windows Phone devices, taking the app up to version v2.12.318.

At the time it was not clear what was new, but now  Aggiornamentilumia.it has discovered that the update did in fact bring a major new feature – the ability to receive PDF documents from iOS, Android and WhatsApp Beta users.

Users are still not able to send files using the new Document Attach button as seen in the new WhatsApp beta, but this is presumably not long away.

When users receive PDF documents they can preview the document, see how many pages it is and chose where to save it.

The WhatsApp beta app has also seen an update today, to version 2.12.320,  allowing users to select a default save location for documents being sent in a channel.

You can download the current app from the Windows Store at the link below.
