WhatsApp bug kneecaps its block feature

WhatsApp’s blocking functionality has run into issues over the past week, forcing users to go to Twitter and other social media platforms to vent their frustrations.
Reports have come in of blocked users now being able to interact with the users who have blocked them, this includes messaging them, seeing their profile pictures and last seen time.

WhatsApp touts blocking as a way to “stop receiving messages, calls and status updates from certain contacts by blocking them.” This failure represents a serious breach for users, especially vulnerable people who have blocked abusers and harassers on the platform. The firm has yet to comment on this, but as this is a server-side issue, it is expected to be resolved quickly, and in the background.
