What if Elon Musk designed a smartphone? (concept)

If you are on the lookout for some remedy that can cure your foldable boredom then you are in luck. And this time it is no traditional smartphone manufacturing company…this time it is Tesla (ohh you probably know by now), yes the Elon Musk’s Tesla, ready to provide you the dose.

A designer Jeffrey Lee took the pain and designed what he called ‘a telescopic designed smartphone’, simply meaning one part of the screen sliding out from another, allowing you to expand the phone sideways. The Tesla C1 is not a typical foldable smartphone, we are talking a sliding flexible screen here. Expanding the device will let you use it as a tablet like how all the foldable phones out there. And that’s about it. The similarity ends right there.

When the phone is collapsed a part of the screen facing the back acts as a reservoir for your notifications and the rest is reserved for a dual camera set up. Needless to say, the remaining part is where you will probably look most of the time – the front.

The designer took inspiration from LG rolling television launched at this year’s CES. The below gallery will give a more detailed view of this rockstar.
