While the rest of us worry about Instagram and Snapchat, it seems there has been a quite battle being waged in the Windows Phone Store between developers who bring 3rd party Nest apps to the store and Nest, who is demanding they are removed.
At least 3 apps have now been pulled from the Windows Phone Store, apparently it appears due to complaints of trademark infringement.
Anthony Pham however hopes the avoid this, with his app not featuring any part of Nest’s iconic design, and the name obviously not invoking the company either.
His app allows users to:
- Set Target Temperature(s)
- Change Mode (Cool, Heat, Heat•Cool, Off)
- Set Fan Mode
- Set Away Mode
- Supports Multiple Thermostats and Locations
- Live Tile Support
The app is Windows Phone 8 only and is $0.99 with a free trial.
Of course there is no guarantee the app will remain available in the store, so get it while you can in the Windows Phone Store here.
Thanks Kevin for the tip.
