Call and SMS blocking might be possible with GDR2

  • Developer “Walking Cat” noticed some new classes in the unreleased GDR2 SDK, which are related to call and SMS blocking.
  • Carriers seem to be able to disable and enable these features though.

Kantar stats show increase in WP marketshare over past year

    • Up from 2.9% to 4.0% in the US, and 4.5% to 8.6% in the UK

Verizon actually has a higher percent of WP users than AT&T, 5% vs 4.5%

Bing Search UI being improved

  • Adds quick links to call or drive to a location from search results
  • Improves relevancy of searches – searching for Starbucks provides a map, etc

Store Checks find Lumia 1020 off to slow start

  • An analyst group led by Power visited and called AT&T stores to ask about 1020 sales
  • “Sales were modest at best”, $300 price tag and the different OS were main issues

Microsoft delaying Siri competitor to make something revolutionary

  • Don’t want to release something equivalent to the competitors
  • Want to create something state-of-the-art
