Waze crowd-sources traffic news- alpha coming to Windows Mobile, signing up testers

We have written about Waze before, the first free turn-by-turn GPS app that uses crowd sourcing to detect real time traffic conditions. Users can communicate information to each other about what’s happening on the road (police, accidents, construction, cheap gas etc) straight from their phones in real time.

This app, when it reaches critical mass, has the potential to change the way people drive and commute. But to do that the application needs users, and many of them.  Right now the company is looking for alpha testers in the US who would be interested in trying the app before it goes public.

Users can register for the alpha at www.waze.com/alpha_register/ or read more about the service at  www.waze.com.
