Waze app coming to Windows Phone 8 soon

Waze_3.5_ScreenIsraeli site Calcalist reports Waze will soon be bringing their crowd-sourced GPS navigation app to Windows Phone 8.

The app is particularly important in Israel, as Nokia only added maps for the country recently, and these still suffer from issues, for example displaying place names the wrong way round. The Waze app is however popular world-wide due to features such as up to date traffic information.

Waze won the Best Overall Mobile App award at the 2013 Mobile World Congress, beating Dropbox, Flipboard and others.

Calcalist expect the app to launch in June this year. Waze declined to comment on the rumour.
