Microsoft announced Outlook.com today, a replacement for Hotmail. The service allows users to rename their Windows Live address to Outlook.com.  The warning above suggests however for Windows Phone users this will be a bad idea indeed, resulting in the loss of access to most Windows Phone services, including Marketplace and SkyDrive.

To reserve your Outlook.com address, rather use register a Hotmail Alias.
