Wacom and Microsoft Ink partnership to create “ultimate stylus”

At Day 1 of Microsoft’s BUILD 2016, the company introduced the new Windows Ink, a platform of applications and features optimized for pen input. But what may have slipped under the radar, and actually was only released via blog, was that Microsoft and Wacom are entering into a partnership to create an “ultimate pen” of sorts that will work with any Windows 10 pen enabled PC.

The partnership takes advantage of Microsoft’s new Windows Pen Protocol, a set of guidelines for any OEM to create pens for pen enabled Windows 10 PCs. So hopefully this Wacom partnership is only the beggining, and we’ll get more universal pens from manufacturers with the release of Windows 10 Anniversary update.
