Vodafone Nokia Lumia 820 getting PR 1.1.5 update which enables LTE in Australia

On their blog Vodafone Australia has announced that the Nokia Lumia 820 is getting a software update tomorrow, and rolling out over the next month, which will enable 4G LTE support on their network.

The PR 1.1.5 update will make the Nokia Lumia 820:

  • 4G enabled
  • The phone can now play videos sent from a Samsung Galaxy via MMS
  • Stability improvement, fixing reboot and freezing issues
  • General performance and quality improvements

The update will come to 25% of users in the first 5 days, 50% in the next 15 and should cover all users within 26 days. Users will be notified via an update prompt on their handset.

Interestingly it seems the 4G update is coming to the Nokia Lumia 820 before the iPhone 5 and other Android devices, which is pretty sweet for however long it lasts.
