VKontakte for Windows Phone picks up a major update


VKontakte, the largest Russian social network today released an update for its official Windows Phone app. The latest update brings a handful of new features to the app, and presumably bug fixes. Here’s the full changelog:

  • In-app notifications about friends birthdays
  • Manage users blacklist
  • Add users and groups to favorites
  • New audio player capabilities: view lyrics and current playlist
  • It is possible now to hide a news source in news recommendations and other news lists
  • Videos uploaded by users or groups, as well as video albums, are now represented in separate lists
  • Suggested news support
  • You may start writing a news post and continue later — the app stores the draft
  • Quick in-app help is available through Support menu option
  • The app is translated to Brazilian Portuguese.

As you can see from the changelog, the app will now notify users about their friends’ birthdays and users can now manage their blacklist on the app. If you’re a VK user, make sure to download the latest update from here.
