Vivo is the first company to officially launch a phone with an in-display fingerprint reader. The company earlier showcased a prototype during CES 2018 and has finally launched a device incorporating the same technology.
The Chinese based company launched X21 in Singapore earlier this month followed by the launch in India today. The device is priced at 35,990 INR ($525) and comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor. Apart from this, the device comes with a Snapdragon 660 processor and 6 GB of RAM. Vivo X21 also features a decent 12 + 5MP dual rear-facing cameras, as well as a single 12MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture. Vivo X21 also has a 6.2-inch AMOLED display with a notch on the top that houses the front camera. The device will come with Android 8.1 out-of-the-box and will have custom FunTouch 4.0 ROM installed.
With the launch of X21, Vivo has already beaten the likes of Samsung in innovation. However, Samsung has an event scheduled later this year where the company will announce the upgrade of Note series. With X21 already in the market, I would say your move Samsung!
