In 2018 small Asian OEM Vivo had influence on the smartphone world way beyond their size, with the release of the first full-screen smartphone, the Vivo Apex Nex S.
Now the company is set to shake up the world once again with their new Apex smartphone, which will be announced on the 24th of this month.
The handset has been called the most complex simple phone in the world and is rumoured to be a seamless, sealed device with no buttons, ports or other protrusions or holes.
This could be achieved by using technology such as wireless charging, capacitive buttons, under-screen fingerprint readers, displays as speakers and in-display cameras.
Much of the technology was teased by regular leaker Ice_Universe on twitter.
Like the Apex Nex S it is unlikely we will be buying this device, but it is likely to cast a long shadow over the handsets we see delivered by other OEMs over the next 12 months.
