Viber CEO confirms WP8 client “in final development stages”

We have heard recently that Viber will be getting VOIP on Windows Phone 8 soon.  Now VOIP site TruTowers has managed to confirm this with their CEO, Talmon Marco, who said:

Q: Is there a time frame for the release of Viber for Windows Phone 8? Will this release support Nokia devices only, or the rest of the WP8 devices as well?

A: Viber for Windows Phone 8 is in final development stages. We should have it real soon. We will be supporting all Windows Phone 8 devices.

In this case “supporting all Windows Phone 8 devices” means the app will not be a Nokia exclusive, which should be a relief to the other 25% of Windows Phone users.

Viber is a VOIP and Messaging client with more than 175 million users who are adding an average of 400,000 users per day.  Read more about their future plans at TruTowers here.

Via WPC, thanks Paul for the tip.
