Valve and Headup Games team up for Bridge Constructor Portal

A new Portal game was announced! And much to everyone’s disappointment, it’s not Portal 3. Valve has teamed up with developer Headup Games to bring us Bridge Constructor Portal.

If you wanted to know how unpopular this announcement was, look no further than the video below, which has its like/dislike ratio turned off on YouTube, and the top comment is “please valve make an apologize for your existence.” Broken English aside, the sentiment is clear. Ouch. But enough of the fan reaction.

Bridge Constructor is a series that tasks players with—you guessed it—constructing bridges in order to move the flow of traffic from one end of the level to the other. Much of the fun is building wacky, unrealistic bridges and watching them somehow defy physics and succeed, or spectacularly fail. Bridge Constructor Portal will introduce a portal gun to spice up the gameplay and brings players back to the Aperture Science computer-aided enrichment center.

Bridge Constructor Portal launches on December 20 for Mac, Windows, Android and iOS. Console versions are set to follow in early 2018 according to the developer. Though which consoles exactly weren’t specifically stated, the video shows logos for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.

This may not be the Portal game that everyone wanted, but Bridge Constructor is a fun series regardless, and the addition of Portal elements should only enhance that.
