Update For ZuneCardr App

We talked about the ZuneCardr App here back in August- when WP7 was still just a daydream.  Well, WP7 is now a reality, and ZuneCardr has just improved with an update.

For those of you not familiar, ZuneCardr is a free application that taps into the social aspects of Zune, allowing you to view Zune Cards info like Top Artists, Favorites, and Badges.  This update allows the user to now see what’s in the Top Artists and Favorites categories of other users that have chosen to share this info publicly.  When you tap and hold on an artist’s name, you’ll be taken to that artist’s page on zune.net.

Take note that this app is not actually integrated with the Zune music/video software on WP7.  It would be nice if the app would recognize if I happened to have a particular artist in the Collection on my phone, rather than portal-ing me to the Marketplace for the artist, to potentially stream a song.  All in all, this app is good for learning about new artists, rather than satisfying an instant music urge.

I tried the ZuneCardr App when I first got my phone, and I wasn’t impressed.  The update has changed my mind.  I’m betting it will only get better, with so many users now signing up for a Zune Pass, thanks to WP7.

The ZuneCardr app currently doesn’t have a high rating in the Marketplace; don’t let that discourage you from downloading it.  We’ll see if this update improves its rating.
