Update: Just revealed at EA Play, Unravel Two is finished and will be out today!

Unravel 2 was officially announced at EA Play. It will indeed feature multiplayer, but you can play it alone. Either way, there will always be two characters sharing yarn.

Original: What would the day be without EA’s upcoming announcements leaking hours before the company’s EA Play event. Thanks to a rating from the ESRB, we now know that Unravel 2 is in the works.

It’s ratings page on the ESRB’s website indicates that Unravel’s sequel could have a multiplayer component to it in the form of co-op. Its description specifically notes that “players control a pair of fantastical creatures called Yarnys as they navigate environments.” You can view Unravel 2’s rating information below.

The first Unravel was strictly single-player, so EA may be wanting to broaden its audience. It was a surprise hit when it was announced a few years ago at E3 2015. When creative director Martin Sahlin took to the stage to introduce Unravel, his genuine nervousness and love for was palpable.

We’ll update this story when Unravel 2 is officially revealed. As of now, a release date is unknown.
