Unify Remote Control updated with new user interface and Windows Media Center integration

Unify Remote Control

Unify 3.0 brings a whole new user experience to Windows Phone’s premier remote control app.

After many months of development and testing, Unify 3.0 is now available. This release adds many new and exciting features, as well as compatibility fixes for Windows Phone 8 devices.

We’ve changed the colour scheme to fit with new branding, and completely redesigned the media controls. Transport buttons are now at the top, and match with the standard Windows Phone media controls.

We’ve added an optional plugin for Windows Media Center. At this stage, this plugin can be thought of as a public beta, and only shows the now playing status and play state information. We hope to grow this into a more integrated experience over the next few months, and would really appreciate any feedback. Unify uses the accelerometer in your phone to automatically display the now playing information when your phone is placed on a table, and switches back to controls when you pick it up.

We’ve added the option to use your accent colour throughout the app and the option to not display the splash screen when Unify Server starts up. We’ve also completely re-written most of the touchpad functionality, making it more efficient and better at recognising gestures. Autodiscovery now works as expected on Windows Phone 8 devices too!
