We already saw some market share figures today, and the latest to roll in is Comscore, with installed base numbers for the 3 months ending April 2012.
For the first time in more than 18 months the numbers show a month on month increase, from 3.9% for the last two months to 4.0% for the period ending April. This will of course mostly be due to good sales of the Nokia Lumia 900, which are exceeding the rate at which Windows Mobile handsets continue to flush out of the system.
It is likely that this number will continue to increase over the next few months as more and more of the moving 3 month period includes the April 2012 bump.
With 107 million smartphone users in USA, 4.28 million US subscribers now own phones running a Microsoft Mobile OS, with around half of them using Windows Phones. Hopefully more and more of the Windows Mobile users will now also considering upgrading to a Windows Phone rather than defecting to the other mobile operating systems.
