You can now Torrent on Windows 10 with the Torrex UWP app for Windows PCs, Mobile devices, Hololens and the Surface Hub. The UWP iteration of the app was previously in a hidden store beta, and now the upgrade has come to users of the regular- non-beta app.

However, users expecting to be able to use it on the Xbox will be disappointed, albeit for a while. The Windows 10 app doesn’t yet support the Xbox, and will be subjected to further testing prior to release.

We noted that the app for Xbox wasn’t quite ready yet, and would require quite a few optimizations to get it ready for the Xbox. One of such optimizations would involve building a custom browser for the Xbox to handle magnet links and torrent files, the other one would be tailoring a custom interface to take advantage of the Xbox controller-based navigation system.

In the meantime, you can still get the app on Windows PCs, and should you want to check out how to get a beta, you can read this for more information.

Here’s the app description:

Torrex Pro is the modern BitTorrent client with ability to work in background, stream video and audio playback. Using our application you can download any torrents and magnet links and start viewing media content in the built-in media player without waiting for the download completion. Torrex is full-featured BitTorrent client for Windows Store today, which supports x86, x64 and ARM architectures.
