Surfy Industrial web browser brings locked-down browsing and barcode reader support to WEH 8.1 devices.

Surfy Industrial web browser is a lockdown web browser for enterprises who wish to effectively use web-based applications while maximizing their users’ productivity.

Til now, organizations using devices running the WEH 8.1 operating system have been flat out of luck when it comes to an industrial browser solution. Devices such as the Panasonic Toughpad FZ-E1, the Bluebird BM180 and BP30, have had to rely on custom solutions.

Created by Outcoder, the company behind Surfy the popular web browser for Windows Phone, Surfy Industrial allows organizations to restrict URLs and lockdown browser settings. This is especially useful when the device is configured in kiosk mode. The app can be configured and locked down with a password, and the configuration exported and then imported into another device using an SD Card, NFC or via the cloud.

In addition, Surfy Industrial offers barcode scanning and keyboard wedge support. HTML meta tags are used to define on-page JavaScript handlers for scanning, power, and app lifecyle events.

If your organization operates in multiple regions, Surfy Industrial has you covered. It’s available in 20 languages.

Since Surfy Industrial is based on the popular Surfy browser, it comes with a host of other features. A full list is available on the website.
