In Surface Book, the 13.5” PixelSense display detaches easily from the keyboard to become a thin, light tablet that works perfectly with OneNote and Surface Pen. Detaching the tablet from the keyboard base in Surface Book is not just a mechanical thing, you have a separate key on keyboard which needs to be pressed to detach the device. Since pressing the keyboard key involves power, some readers had doubt whether Surface Book can be detached when it is turned off. It has been now confirmed that you can detach the Surface Book tablet even when the system is Off. The indicator light on the button also works while off.
