SUPERHOT is getting a Japanese-inspired game on PC

Japanese developer GameTomo has unveiled that it is working on an alternate story campaign to SUPERHOT, the first-person shooter where time only progresses when you move.

SuperHot JP (a working title that is not the final name) is set in the SUPERHOT universe, but this time has a “distinctive Japanese flavor.” You’ll be battling the red guys in Japanese-inspired locations like Tokyo alleyways, samurai castles, and hot springs.

While the original SUPERHOT launched as a VR title, SuperHot JP will be a non-VR game for now. It’s not being billed as a “full-fledged” sequel, but it will include 15-18 regular levels and 3-4 endless levels, plus new weapons like a bow and arrow.

GameTomo is developing SuperHot JP with guidance from the SUPERHOT team. An Xbox One release isn’t planned as of yet, but it is “at least” coming to PlayStation 4 and PC. Considering SUPERHOT was a recent Games with Gold title, it’s reasonable to assume it will make it to Microsoft’s console at some point.
