Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD coming to consoles and PC later this year

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, the latest instalment in the Super Monkey Ball series, is coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

This marks the first instalment in the series in 5 years, after 2014’s Super Monkey Ball Bounce, which was available only on Android and iOS.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD is set to be a high definition remaster of the 2006 game Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, which was available exclusively on the Nintendo Wii.

The original game had 100 main game levels, 50 mini-games, and eight boss battles, all of which took advantage of the Wii Remote’s motion sensing capability.

However, it was this jump to using the motion controls that caused critics to state that the new control scheme made the game somewhat more difficult.

In Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD, you’ll help AiAi and friends battle their way through levels packed with fun in order to reclaim their stolen bananas.

The HD remake is set to offer updated and remastered graphics, specially optimised control schemes for each platform, a brand new Decathalon mini-game mode, and online leaderboards.

The game is coming to the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 29th, 2019. The Steam release currently has no exact release date, but SEGA say it’s ‘planned for’ Winter 2019.

For PC players, you can check out Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD’s Steam page and add it to your wishlist here.
