Johan Peeters is having a bizarre problem with his HTC 7 Trophy which is causing him to return his phone, and which I expect is an OS-level problem.
It appears the volume when a sound is being previewed is significantly louder than when the actual alarm is going off. Johan assures us system volume is at maximum, and complains that the sound is just not loud enough to wake him, making the handset, for him at least, not worth keeping.
Is this a problem with all Windows Phone 7 handsets, or just the relatively curses HTC ones? Let us know below.
Update: Several readers let us know that in fact this is a feature of the Windows phone 7 OS, where the alarm will start with reduced volume and build up in time. The only question which remains then is if is a desired feature.
