On May 22, 2025, Bethesda dropped a hefty Starfield update that targets two fronts, modding tools and stability. Players can now upload mods up to 2GB and assign custom icons, marking a major step forward for community content. Bethesda also spotlighted the new “Watchtower” mod, which includes a new questline and orbital strikes.

PC players with less powerful rigs got a new “Very Low” graphics setting, while ultra-wide fans finally received proper 32:9 and 21:10 support. Frame rate stutters caused by long play sessions or scanner use no longer drag things down.

Several crash bugs were squashed, including ones tied to removing buildings in Andraphon’s Main Outpost. Quest progression blockers in “All That Money Can Buy” and “In Memoriam” also got fixed.

Bethesda continues to clean up performance issues that frustrated players since launch, but this update shows more polish and forward momentum. By improving modding freedom and fixing persistent bugs, Starfield takes another swing at fulfilling its long-term potential.
