Last month, we noted that Spotify appeared to be gearing up to launch a smart speaker to rival the Home Pod, Google Home and Alexa style smart speakers on the market, now it appears that launch may be closer than we anticipated.
Spotify is hosting an event this month in New York on April the 24th. While its unknown what it will be launching, chances are that we might see the debut of Spotify’s first smart speakers.
The firm has announced an IPO and expansions to other countries at the tail end of last month, and feature updates are typically announced by blogpost, leading us to believe a hardware announcement might be the reason for this.
Nevertheless, we will find out what the firm’s planning in a few weeks.
