Following the Alexa support for Sonos which was announced last year, Google today announced that it is bringing the Google Assistant support to Sonos. With this support, you can play music, get to know traffic to work, control your home and more. Consumers in the US can now activate the Google Assistant on Sonos One and Sonos Beam.

Here’s how you can set up Google Assistant on your Sonos One or Sonos Beam:

  • Your speaker and soundbar will automatically receive a software update to bring the Google Assistant as a voice assistant option.
  • After the update is complete, go to “Voice Services” in the Sonos app under Settings
  • Select Google Assistant
  • Follow the guided setup process

This update is rolling out now starting in the U.S. and then will be expanded to the UK, Germany, Canada, Australia, France, The Netherlands and more over the coming months.
