This may be more relevant to my interest than the readers, but it was pretty big news to me that Softlayer, the hosting company which is hosting our site, has released an administration app for Windows phone 7.
The app features:
- Tickets â€“ Need help but not in the office? Quickly create a new ticket for a support request or examine existing support tickets and check their status.
- Servers â€“ View performance details and control the basic functions of your SoftLayer Dedicated Servers and CloudLayer Computing Instances. Easily power a server off or on, ping the server to test its network availability, or reboot.
- Bandwidth â€“ Monitor the bandwidth usage of your SoftLayer Dedicated Servers, CloudLayer Computing Instances, and Virtual Dedicated Racks.
“We focus on giving customers total control over their infrastructure. This means being able to manage your services when, where, how, and on whatever device you want,” Nathan Day, chief scientist for SoftLayer said in a statement. “Our mobile app for Windows Phone 7 and Mobile HD app for the iPad extend our suite of management clients to the mobile platforms our customers use most, and that includes Android as well. We’re already hard at work innovating the next versions of these apps so our customers can take advantage of even more features and functionality.”
