Snapcat is finally joining the rest of the messaging world with support for group video calling coming down the pipeline.

While Snapchat had supported single video calls and group chats for a while, for some reason, the firm had failed to implement the twain together even after rivals like WhatsApp and Skype quickly caught up.

“Today, we’re making Chat even more fun. Now you can video chat with up to 16 of your friends at one time. Just tap the video camera icon in a Group Chat to get your friends together! Friends in the Group Chat will receive a notification inviting them to join.” the firm’s overly excited blog post reads.

The update will be rolling out to Snapchat users worldwide this week, too bad it doesn’t fix that godawful redesign as well.
