Very few Windows Mobile users would not know about Slide2Unlock, a great application that emulated the iPhone unlock screen, while of course adding a much useful functionality, like displaying the weather, your appointments, and missed messages and new e-mails.
Unfortunately users of HTC’s latest devices have been troubled by the lack of a full locking solution, as the application would not lock the Home key, leaving the phone still vulnerable to missed or accidental phone calls.
Fortunately the software has now been updated to version 1.30, which finally does lock the Home key, and brings other improvements:
One is the Slide to End slider, which allows one to also ignore phone calls. This function emulates that found on the HTC Touch HD and HTC Touch Viva. Additional features are the ability to get weather data from TouchFlo3D, the ability to lock and unlock the application using the stylus and full VGA support.
There are scores of additional improvements, so visit the Slide2Unlock home page for more information. The software is donationware, and these would be much appreciated by the author, who in fact has seen his free software being sold by others, and has been seriously considering ceasing development.
