Microsoft has today announced that the company is teaming up with VICE News – one of the largest news source. VICE News has teamed up with “break down barriers” – the company will allow its viewers to send questions to VICE News via Skype video messages. Here’s a recent video that VICE published with some Skype video messages (skip to 0:45 to see how video messages works on VICE) videos:

Sterling Proffer, the General Manager at VICE News stated:

“Skype is enabling VICE News to continue to break down barriers, making it easier to gather and share truly global stories. Skype TX allows us to bring in a wide range of voices and faces into the conversation – which lets ideas, and not technology, dictate the story.”

VICE News has also posted a tutorial video showing how to send VICE News a Skype Video Message:

This partnership is indeed very interesting and it’ll be interesting to see if Microsoft teams up with other major news sources in the future.
