Microsoft’s new Skype is getting a new old feature for iPhones. With the redesign and jump to version 8.0, Microsoft’s Skype team removed the ability of users to post mood messages. Short messages that appeared on your profile indicating whatever you wanted to. This is distinct from the status feature which tells other Skype users whether you are available, or offline, or busy etc. With this update, iPhone users can once again add mood messages to their Skype profile. Microsoft is also adding in-chat dates, so you can tell when you sent that text to that friend that got ignored (Stop ignoring me Mehedi). The new Skype isn’t yet available for the iPad, but if you’re on iPhone this update should be rolling out to you now.
That being said, here’s the changelog for Skype.
- Mood messages – express yourself with a mood message.
- Dates in chat – see when messages were sent in chat.
- Improved sign-in – sign back in to your account more easily.
- General performance and reliability improvements.
