Skype for Mac picks up a bug fix update

Microsoft today released a new update for the Skype app for Mac. The latest update isn’t a major one and mostly focuses on bug fixes. However, the update does bring important bug fixes. Here’s the full changelog:

  • Messaging: Fixed an issue which caused links to occasionally disappear in chat.
  • Messaging: Fixed an issue which prevented GIFs from loading properly.
  • Application: Fixed an issue which crashed the application on Macs with Force Touch trackpad.

It’s worth mentioning that the audio and video issue is still present with the latest update – Microsoft stated: “On OSX, sometimes audio and/or video stops sending in Skype after the device wakes up from hibernation.”. It isn’t yet clear when Microsoft will release the update to fix that issue, however, we hope Microsoft will release it soon.

The latest update for Skype for Mac, version 7.9 is now available and you can grab it from here.
