Samsung is working on Exynos 9820 chipset for a while now and it looks like the new chipset will go head to head with the Cortex-A76 chipset. According to the previous leaks, Exynos 9820 will be made on the 7nm FinFET architecture and will probably power the upcoming Samsung devices.
Exynos 9820 is also expected to feature Mongoose M4 which, according to the latest leak, will overpower Cortex-A76 chipset. The latest leak was shared by Ice Universe on Twitter and has claimed that Exynos 9820 will be both efficient and powerful than Cortex-A76.
Exynos M4 has emerged, its performance will be far beyond Cortex-A76, but we expect it to have better energy efficiency. pic.twitter.com/xJkAQkrBx3

ARM earlier stated that Cortex-A76 can reach up to 3.30GHz, which means that Mongoose M4 might be able to reach 3.30+GHz. However, at speeds greater than 3 GHz, cooling will be a big issue so we could expect Exynos 9820 to have a sophisticated cooling system. With Samsung trying to beat ARM, it will be interesting to see Apple’s approach to take on both ARM and Samsung with its upcoming A12 chipset.
