Samsung poaches Blackberry executive for business phone push

Samsung has recently intensified its push into the business smartphone market. The company has been producing business-targeted smartphones for some time, but has recently re-branded the initiative under the Bizbee brand name.

Samsung has hired away Marcus Stone from RIM, where he had sales and marketing positions for seven years in Europe and UK mandates, promoting BlackBerry through B2B channels. He has been appointed head of smart phones UK and Ireland for Samsung Mobile, where his job will be to boost Samsung smartphone sales and marketing for the UK and Ireland’s smart phone and business portfolio.

Samsung’s BizBee range launched with an updated Samsung i780, with the range of handsets will be expanded further in 2009. Samsung recently found Windows Mobile success with the Samsung Omnia, finding its smartphone market share growing in September and October to 10.9 per cent due to the launch of the device.
