The powerful Samsung Omnia is set to roll out from its initial launch market in Singapore, where it started on the 15th July, initially to other other South East Asian countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and Vietnam before advancing into Europe including The Netherlands, China, Australia, Turkey and The United Arab Emirates this month.
“Samsung has made a great effort to reinforce its leadership in the Smartphone market over the past several years and the success of Omnia II is proof of our continuous efforts,†said Younghee Lee, Vice President of Marketing, Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics. “I strongly believe that Omnia II satisfies the needs of consumers who want it all – efficiency at work, communications with their loved ones, fun multimedia experiences and style for any occasion.â€
“The powerful multimedia capabilities in the Samsung Omnia II, combined with the familiar, easy-to-use Windows Mobile software, give customers a single, versatile phone for work, home or play,†said Stephanie Ferguson, general manager of product management, Microsoft Corp.
While a Windows Mobile 6.5 launch version has been rumoured, only Windows Mobile 6.1 has so far been confirmed, but an upgrade is still promised for the device once the OS is available.
