Samsung offering virtual device lab for devs for free

samsungwmlabdev Samsung is rapidly becoming my favourite mobile company. Unlike HTC, which seems determined to go it alone, no-one can accuse Samsung of not trying to get developers on their side.  Samsung has from the start exposed the developer API’s for their software and sensors, and has opened up special forums to provide support for the same.

Now Samsung has gone one step further and made several models of real devices available remotely for developers to test their software on, all for free.  Developers can book 30 minute to 10 hour slots during which they will have remote access to real devices such as the Samsung Omnia or Samsung Ace and be able to install applications, try the user interface, visit the web and even rotate the screen.

The service does not even require any software installed on the client side, working simply through a web browser and a JAVA application.

If you are a developer register your interest and book your slot here.

Thanks Martin for the tip.
