Samsung is now rolling out the Android October security update to its Galaxy S20 and S10 series smartphones. The update carries firmware version G98xxXXS5BTIJ and G97xFXXS9DTI8 respectively and doesn’t include any new features, as you’d expect from a security update.
Samsung is currently working on Android 11-based OneUI 3.0 and we got a glimpse of what it looks like last month. Both Galaxy S10 and S20 series are eligible to receive the OneUI 3.0 update as the company will now be delivering three major OS updates to its flagships Galaxy devices. Samsung recently released the first OneUI 3.0 closed beta in South Korea for developers performing compatibility testing. Samsung confirmed that it’d offer One UI 3.0 public beta builds to all the supported Galaxy phone users in India, China, Germany, the UK, and Poland once the beta build starts rolling out.
Meanwhile, Galaxy S20 and S10 users can now go to the Settings > Software update > Download and install to download and install the October 2020 security update on their smartphone.
