Recently we reported that Huawei has perfected the design of its first foldable smartphone and is gearing up for the launch. Back in June, Huawei’s President Vincent Pang confirmed that the company is targetting September for the launch of the device.

Now the company has confirmed that the smartphone is facing another delay. Huawei told TechRadar that there’s “no possibility” of a launch in September. Huawei said the company is “certain” that the device will launch some point in the year but hasn’t given a definite date at the moment. TechRadar didn’t specify the reason for the delay but it’s safe to assume that the company is being extra diligent because of the Galaxy Fold fiasco.

Nevertheless, it looks like Samsung might beat Huawei to the punch after all with its improved version of Galaxy Fold. That said, Samsung is also yet to give a definite date but the company is expected to launch the device soon.
