DailyMobile.net claims that information from an internal Verizon source has revealed that Big Red is having problems getting their Device Management Software up and running on Windows Phone 8.
Apparently the software is necessary to accessed handsets remotely for provisioning purposes and such, and current Windows Phone 8 handsets do not meet the requirements.
Apparently this is a pretty serious issue which could result in handsets entering a rare, unresponsive state, and at present Microsoft and Verizon are in discussions about getting waivers so this issue can be fixed, but that Microsoft is reluctant to give these waivers.
We know the Nokia Lumia 822 is in carrier testing, without any major hiccups. The Device Management Software sounds a lot to me like CarrierIQ phone spyware scandal, and if Microsoft is resisting its installation, all the better for them and their users.
