Rumour: Nokia may be working on a Windows Phone already

Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair has told Barrons that his checks with industry sources revealed that not only could Nokia be getting ready to announce a Windows Phone 7 partnership, but that the company may also have already invested some development effort in Microsoft’s platform.

“If they say on Friday that they’ve already been working on Windows Phone 7, that would be huge,” Blair said.

“This could become the third dominant platform after iOS and Android,” Blair continued.

Blair joins a number of other third party sources adding weight to the rumour, with both Engadget and TechCrunch claiming informed sources who corroborate it.
