NPU reports on claims by their sources that the much anticipated Nokia Lumia 929 or also “Lumia Icon” may be delayed all the way to February 2014.
The push back is apparently due to Verizon wishing to deal with Microsoft directly, rather than Nokia, and with Verizon therefore wanting to wait till the Nokia/Microsoft handset division deal is complete.
As part of the rumour, it is also suggested Mobile World Congress in February 2014 will be the first time we will see fully Microsoft/Lumia branded handsets, after the new merged entity drops the Nokia brand.
So far Microsoft and Nokia it appears have been able to avoid interference with their product launch strategy, but it seems inevitable that after such a momentous move there will be some casualties.
