Rowi v2.0 Release Candidate Released To Beta Testers

Rowi, the best twitter client on Windows Phone so far is under active development with regular beta testing of recent builds. Rowi team just sent out their Release Candidate version of v2.0 of the app. The app features numerous improvements over beta making it even better.

  • New AdRotator (new types of ads)
  • Better error message on invalid login
  • Better RTL support than Beta 2
  • New UI for character counter
  • New home screen list improvements (keeps your place for real)
  • When read state changes, tile is updated locally first to show up faster
  • Photo previews from Twitter photos
  • Tweet details page expands all URLs and show shortened display URLs like
  • Now playing added to new tweet screen to let you tweet about what you’re listening to
  • New now playing pinnable tile to instantly tweet what you’re listening to
  • Bitly URL shortening removed (in favor of automatic shortening for now)
  • Notifications service status page now always loads in Rowi instead of IE
  • Character counter now properly includes shortened URL lengths as you type
  • Conversation view now capped at 25 tweets to not eat up people’s rate limits on long conversations
  • New reading style (default) marks tweets as read as you scroll up
  • Scroll to top automatically marks all tweets as read
  • New setting for manually marking tweets as read yourself
  • New setting to make all tweet calls to Twitter return the max amount of tweets (200)
  • App bar now minimized when viewing web pages inside of Rowi for maximum viewing pleasure
  • Twitter and YFrog (in addition to TwitPic and Lockerz from Beta 2) photo upload service now supported
  • New “is following me” text on profiles to better understand mutual follow relationships
  • Toast notifications now display inside of Rowi and take you to see the new tweets when tapped
  • Changed toast messages inside of Rowi to white text to match the OS (background colors are the same)
  • When finished writing a new tweet from the new tweet tile, tapping the back button exits Rowi
  • New settings UI (tweaked for simplicity)
