If you’ve ever had to resort to the use of bots to generate a socially acceptable number of Instagram likes, there may be good news for you.
Instagram is trialling providing the option to make the number of likes on your photos private to you only. In the app, the pop-up message reads “we want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get. During this test, only the person who shared a post will see the total number of likes it gets.”
The trial was revealed by Jane Wong, who reverse engineered the instagram app to uncover the feature.

The new feature will also give users a bit more control over the privacy of their accounts, so it’s certainly something to look forward to.
