This September, Respawn is set to debut a hands-on playable demo of its upcoming VR AAA first person war game that’s been development alongside Oculus Studios.
The demo will be available at Oculus Connect 6, which will take place between the 25th and 26th of September at the San Jose McEnery Convention Centre in San Jose, California.
The title was first announced two years ago, at 2017’s Oculus Connect 4. It was described as a ‘realistic’ VR war game that was not going to be a new entry into either the Titanfall or Star Wars franchises.
There’s still a chance that the game may be Apex Legends related, but it’s more likely that Respawn are working on a new IP. Sadly, there’s no chance whatsoever that it’s Titanfall 3. Sorry about that.
Details on what the game is beyond a realistic first-person war game are sparse at the moment. However, from the promo that announced the team’s step into VR, the game seems to be more focused on what real combat is like – offering something ‘more visceral and more terrifying’.
You can watch an announcement video from Oculus below.
The new game from Respawn is set to launch sometime in late 2019, although the exact date is currently unknown. We’ll update when more information is available.
