WindowsPhoneItaly reports from the recent unveiling of the HTC One that HTC is in the process of developing GPS Navigation software for Windows Phones.
The information was from sources close to the company, and did not reveal if HTC was expanding their HTC Location app again or starting from scratch.
According to their source HTC was also pressuring Microsoft to allow developers to install apps or part of apps on the memory card, to allow large applications such as GPS Navigation apps to sit comfortably on small ROM devices such as the HTC 8S.
Owing a navigation platform has become increasingly common for OEMs, with Nokia having Here, Google with Google Maps of course and Apple with Apple Maps. It would be interesting to see if HTC, who is under some financial strain, will follow through with this initiative.
