According to the report from The Information, Google’s deal with Apple for being the default search provider for Safari browser is ending in 2015. Microsoft and Yahoo are already in discussions with Apple to replace Google in Safari. Bing or Yahoo becoming the default search provider for Safari could change the dynamics of the mobile search landscape which is now dominated by Google. Recently, Yahoo replaced Google as the default search engine for Firefox browser for next five year. This shows Yahoo’s interest in the search space. Microsoft is also aggressive above acquiring users for Bing. Bing is already powering Apple Siri’s web search results and Spotlight search results. It could be an obvious choice for Apple to choose Microsoft as their search provider.
